Olive oil is a fine product that should be purchased with
care and proper information. That is why Themistocles Evangelakos
and Claudette Lalonde-Evangelakos opened the new boutique
L'Olive Noire. As an olive oil passioné, whose family
in Greece has been lovingly cultivating olive trees for generations,
Themistocles wanted to share the wonderful olive oils from
Greece. Themistocles also went to Greece specifically to
select oils for the store.
L'Olive Noire's signature offerings are Village Oil, Fotoula
and Elea. Village oil is olive oil straight from Themistocles'
family estate and is poured right in front of the customer.
Fotoula is a L'Olive Noire private label and is sold in 750
ml bottles. It has been specially selected by Themistocles
himself and is of such high quality that he and Claudette
have proudly named it after their daughter, Fotoula. Elea,
a L'Olive Noire exclusive is an organic, Kosher, estate bottled
oil. Simply an outstanding product with a wonderfully complex
bouquet and flavour. |

L'Olive Noire offers personalized service
and tries to tailor a choice of olive oils to a clients'
tastes and uses. Some people like a very pungent, fruity
oil. Others prefer a more subtle, less peppery oil.
Oils that are used for dipping should not be the same
for oils that are for frying.
Themistocles also offers recipe
suggestions, olive oil is not only for salad
dressings, it can be used as a delicious ingredient
that can raise a dish's flavour to a whole new level.
